A/N: This rather odd story is the result of a holiday challenge at dw_straybunnies, as I thought it would be rather fun to see how many of the 12 prompts I could shoehorn into one tale.  This included Ace with a girl (in this case, Rani), vampires, evil giraffes, something about Welsh myths, Eleven being threatened by Care Bears, Sarah Jane and the Doctor with an octopus in the TARDIS bathtub, Two with Martha, Evelyn Smythe, Six meeting Rani, the Meddling Monk, Frobisher and it being set in an ancient Earth civilization, in this case Egypt.  Oy.  A couple of these are mere cameos, but they’re all in there.  Really.

Plugging along through longer WIPs I found a need to finish *something* hence a set of three drabbles to touch base with my neglected friend dw100.

It's what you might call 'cosmopolitan' but only in a limited way, since most of the cosmos isn't really represented, but for Earth it's quite nice, yes, quite nice.

Title: Reciprocal Quandaries
Characters: Two, Jamie, Polly, Ben
Wordcount: 33,161 in 13 chapters
Summary: Two, Ben, Polly and Jamie pause for a bit of restful holiday at the 1900 Paris Exposition - or so they wished.

A/N: Originally written for the tardis_gen ficathon here on LJ to fulfill a prompt by wishfulaces, this might be termed a 'straight-up historical' - for in spite of it being in Two's 'monster-ful' era this tale features a bit of intrigue at the 1900 Paris Exposition in which monsters might be noted only by their absence. Of course, who needs things like that when you have good old-fashioned human nature to deal with?

The one caveat here is the reader must be prepared to swallow a large coincidence - but probably not much larger than others we've seen (ala Black Orchid, Enemy of the World, etc.).

This took quite a lot of historical research though only a fraction of it is shown in the story, but I enjoy that sort of thing. As to the featured inventors: Rudolf Diesel is pretty much as he was, Hubert Booth has been aged about thirty years, allowed a better exhibition slot and given a granddaughter.

A/N: This set of somewhat introspective portraits began as a drabble, but - not unlike the Doctor - it would not be contained in quite so brief a place. 'Two' is set at the end of War Games, 'Four' at the beginning of Robot.

Drabbles!

Not only worse than potato chips, but nearly as numerous. Drabbles are (of course) 100 words, no more, no less and my drabbles are usually pretty exact in their count though the various sites automatic 'wordcount' things give varying numbers, I count them by hand before posting (titles not included).
