A/N:
This rather odd story is the result of a holiday challenge at dw_straybunnies, as I thought it would be rather fun to see how many of the 12 prompts I could shoehorn into one tale.  This included Ace with a girl (in this case, Rani), vampires, evil giraffes, something about Welsh myths, Eleven being threatened by Care Bears, Sarah Jane and the Doctor with an octopus in the TARDIS bathtub, Two with Martha, Evelyn Smythe, Six meeting Rani, the Meddling Monk, Frobisher and it being set in an ancient Earth civilization, in this case Egypt.  Oy.  A couple of these are mere cameos, but they’re all in there.  Really.

Title: The Giraffe Convolution of Doom
Wordcount: 6,619
Characters: Two, Four, Six, Seven, Ace, Evelyn Smythe, Rani Chandra, the Meddling Monk, Frobisher, Jamie and Sarah Jane with a cameo by Eleven.
Summary: There are vampire giraffes reported at the London Zoo. The Doctor must do something about that, seeing as he’s been there before.

All 6 short chapters under the cut, or you may read it at TeaspoonFanfiction.net or AO3.

Two drabbles recently gone by to tuck in here, one from a random generator list at DbyA that featured Eight/Jo in it's mixing:

Title: Eight Times better than Brazil
Characters: Eight, Jo
Rating: G
Summary:Coming back home can be mutual.

She was a little older and a little wiser in what risks she was willing to take with her life, or with her heart. He was a little older and wiser himself, and much in need of someone who could be there to lift his spirits, to bring him back to a joy of living, exploring.

And what a joy it had been, once more. How well they’d rediscovered now that the sweet spark had not been extinguished by the years. Together they were healed and renewed before a kaleidoscopic universe.

Besides, Jo had always loved the feel of velvet.

Title: You Look like a Queen
Characters: : Four, Romana II
Rating: G
Summary: Never judge a book by its cover. Or even assume it's a book. (prompt 324: gape)

The Doctor gaped. “Romana, you can’t keep changing bodies like that. It’s disturbing. It upsets the balance of the cosmos, confuses the fashion world. Wig-makers and plastic surgeons everywhere’ll be in revolt. The ginger hair is especially atrocious and whatever were you thinking deciding on that hideous collar?”

She raised her chin. “How dare you address me thus, sir?”

“Oh come, Romana. You don’t have to add the snotty, overbearing persona, I mean, just because you’ve made a horrible, immature decision and looked like Queen Elizabeth…” Someone small and blonde tugged at his sleeve.

“Doctor.”

“What, Romana?”

“I’m over here.”

One thing I have found is DW does not lend itself to poetry, not really. It is action and dialogue and intrigue, entertainment and adventure, but not really poetry, which is why this one surprised me when it rather suddenly welled up from a sort of poetic dormancy for the genre. But then, it is for a very special person.

([livejournal.com profile] spicy_rejoinder, yes, this one would be for you.)

Title: Ramona and the Blue Box
Characters: Four, Romana, K-9, Ribsy, Ramona and Beezus Quimby, Henry Huggins
Summary: The Doctor finds himself in for an interesting afternoon when he and Romana land on Klickitat Street. Or was it Ramona?

A/N: This entire story stemmed from a slip of the tongue while my family was driving and discussing the varying relationships the Doctor had had with his companions, in which an attempt at saying “Four and Romana” came out as “Four and Ramona.” The reaction in the car was to immediately demand a fic. For those unfamiliar with them, Ramona is a character from a series of well-known classic children’s books by Beverly Cleary, set on Klickitat Street and it’s immediate area in Portland, Oregon in the 1950s, though I don't think you'd really need to be very familiar with them to enjoy the tale.

6 relatively short chapters, the first is here under the cut, the rest may be found at

No need to jump to conclusions. Klickitat could be a British name. )

She's stuck together with bubblegum and rubberbands...among other things.

Title: Parts
Characters: Doctors One through Seven with assorted companions
Wordcount: 5,051 in seven chapters
Summary: It's a wonder the TARDIS was still holding together after all this time - of course, she'd had plenty of creative repairs. First, Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth and Seventh Doctors with companions, but not all at the same time.

How dare they.

Title: Too Long in a Cage
Characters: One, Two, Three, Four with cameos by Susan, the Brig and Sarah-Jane
Wordcount: 1,393
Summary: Did they really think they could hold him? A set of vignettes examining the Doctor's status as a renegade.

A/N: This set of somewhat introspective portraits began as a drabble, but - not unlike the Doctor - it would not be contained in quite so brief a place. 'Two' is set at the end of War Games, 'Four' at the beginning of Robot.

Shoehorning them in

Title: Titles in a Box
Characters: Doctors One through Seven plus Nine with assorted companions
Wordcount: 1200 plus titles and commentary.
Summary: A collection in which all of the titles from the various Doctor's eras are gathered, stuffed or wrangled with varying intelligibilty into drabbles.

A/N: This was a self-challenge to see if I could wrangle all of the titles of each Doctor's era into drabble form and still (sort of kind of) make some sense. Some of them - such as Four most notably - needed more than one drabble to pull it off. I allowed for one "wildcard" leftover word that then became the title for each one.
