Title: Closing Time
Wordcount: 344
Characters: One, with Susan implied
Summary: The First Doctor considers how events are coming to a close with Susan.

A/N: This is a small snatch I'd written a while back and then lost in my notebook, a simple bit of introspection for the end of 'The Dalek Invasion of Earth.'

I seem to be on a roll... either that or this is all my Muse can handle at the moment. Three more, one for each of my favorites again:

Title: Definitely the Water
Characters: Vicki, One
Summary: Oh yes, that’s it, you know what Romans were like. (Prompt 'twitterpated')
They seemed so sensible... )
--
Title: Face It
Characters: Two, Jamie
Summary: It's not something he'd ever wanted to practice.
(reference to the 'other Jamie' of The Mind Robber, prompt 'fairy tale')

How could y' do this to me? )
--

Title: Priorities
Characters: Three, the Master
Summary: Even in times of danger, he remembered what was truly important. (prompt 'steam')
Your face gives you away... )

Plugging along through longer WIPs I found a need to finish *something* hence a set of three drabbles to touch base with my neglected friend [livejournal.com profile] dw100.

First, my favorite of the batch:
Title: Hold Me
Characters: Ian, Barbara
Wordcount: 100
Summary: Just making their way through this adventure together, prompt 'tremor'.

Hold Me )

A bit of humor -
Title: Next Time Just Order a Cake
Characters: Two, Jamie and Zoe
Wordcount: 100
Summary: These look a little too familiar. (Reference to ‘The Seeds of Death’, prompt bloom)

Oh dear... )
And finally, a tiny bit that wants to turn into a tale but I'm tamping it down.
Title: Nearly Sweet as Water
Characters: Three and Jo
Wordcount: 100
Summary: Sheltered from more than the sun.
A/N: A brushing of Three-Jo fluff for starflower, prompt cool.

It was a strange thing... )

Title: Knowing her Place
Characters: the TARDIS
Wordcount: 1527
Summary: That old Type 40 never did fit in. Now it would never be of use again, such a shame, such a shame. A look at the TARDIS just before the Doctor found her.

A/N: written for [livejournal.com profile] everloyal, who loves the relationship between the Doctor and his ship.

It’s too unruly, I tell you. I might even say rebellious. )

Blue Moon

"Like dancing," she directed softly.

Title: Blue Moon
Characters: Ian and Barbara with a cameo by Vicki
Wordcount: 1,053
Summary: Ian doesn't dance, or does he? A fluffy interlude among alien foliage and moonlight.

A/N: A bit of fluff for Ian and Barbara just because they deserve a little fluff now and then, dedicated to BookEnd / Agapi42 who loves them both.

Who climbs inside one of those every day? I want it changed.

Title: Why, It's a Police-Box!
Characters: One, Susan
Wordcount: 1,631
Summary: Why was the TARDIS in that shape anyway? First Doctor and Susan, in the junkyard.

A/N: This came out of wondering why it wasn't being an old car or something when its chameleon circuit broke - either it broke at some earlier point while in London or... well, something like this. The title is, of course, from what Ian says upon first seeing it.

It's quite uneven, most interestingly furrowed. Hm.

Title: The Benefits of Being Monochromatic
Characters: One, Ian, Barbara, Susan
Wordcount: 21,102 in eight chapters
Summary: One and Ian set out to explore, and of course the girls must follow - but where do they go from there? And does it matter how you're dressed?

A/N: This one has been fairly popular - a bit of classic running and saving the day with the orginal Team Tardis, a little mystery and a smattering of monsters on a classic episodic pattern. This was written for the classicdw_fic ficathon 12-08, a relatively low-angst Gen First Doctor adventure for Lurky McLurklurk with (as requested) a very light seasoning of Ian and Barbara shippiness. The inspiration was autumn leaves.

Though written with the same level of sets, costumes and creatures that One enjoyed in mind, the gentle reader must allow that it was somehow filmed in colour.

This fic was a First Place winner for the First Doctor era in the Children of Time Awards.

She's stuck together with bubblegum and rubberbands...among other things.

Title: Parts
Characters: Doctors One through Seven with assorted companions
Wordcount: 5,051 in seven chapters
Summary: It's a wonder the TARDIS was still holding together after all this time - of course, she'd had plenty of creative repairs. First, Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth and Seventh Doctors with companions, but not all at the same time.

How dare they.

Title: Too Long in a Cage
Characters: One, Two, Three, Four with cameos by Susan, the Brig and Sarah-Jane
Wordcount: 1,393
Summary: Did they really think they could hold him? A set of vignettes examining the Doctor's status as a renegade.

A/N: This set of somewhat introspective portraits began as a drabble, but - not unlike the Doctor - it would not be contained in quite so brief a place. 'Two' is set at the end of War Games, 'Four' at the beginning of Robot.

Doctor, you shrunk the tardis...

Title: Monk-in-the-Box
Characters: The Meddling Monk with cameo by One, Vicki and Steven.
Wordcount: 1,691
Summary: A series of vignettes set just after The Time Meddler, in which the meddling Monk, frustrated at the First Doctor's having stolen the trans-dimensional control from his ship (and thus keeping it tiny) rams himself into his chest-sized TARDIS and tries to steer it anyway, setting off in a very brief attempt to still influence various turning points in history.

Shoehorning them in

Title: Titles in a Box
Characters: Doctors One through Seven plus Nine with assorted companions
Wordcount: 1200 plus titles and commentary.
Summary: A collection in which all of the titles from the various Doctor's eras are gathered, stuffed or wrangled with varying intelligibilty into drabbles.

A/N: This was a self-challenge to see if I could wrangle all of the titles of each Doctor's era into drabble form and still (sort of kind of) make some sense. Some of them - such as Four most notably - needed more than one drabble to pull it off. I allowed for one "wildcard" leftover word that then became the title for each one.

Drabbles!

Not only worse than potato chips, but nearly as numerous. Drabbles are (of course) 100 words, no more, no less and my drabbles are usually pretty exact in their count though the various sites automatic 'wordcount' things give varying numbers, I count them by hand before posting (titles not included).

These are all for Doctor Who - My collection of Tolkien drabbles are earlier in this journal, just click the tags to find them.

Here's most of the collection in a jumbled order at Teaspoon and an Open Mind (inclusive of occasional other Doctors beyond 1, 2 and 3):

Snatches of an Old-Fashioned Coat

Or, if you prefer, I keep them collected by Doctor for One, Two and Three at fanfiction.net:

First Doctor:
Snatches of a Mischievous Grandfather

Second Doctor:
Snatches of a Rumpled Genius

Third Doctor:
Snatches of a Velvet Coat

If I accumulate enough, I expect there'll eventually be collections for Four and Seven as well.
