Four more!
Bestiary: The Crastinpro
The Crastinpro a purpose serves -
When walking, it swerves
To every small thing.
More urgency keeps
It feigning to sleep.
Innocence the Crastinpro shows,
Always moving goals
In circular ways.
No need abater,
All saved for later.
One can always tell
Crastinpro meant well.
-
Blues Stanza: Cat Hair Blues
The cat was drinking from my cup -
My cat, full-shedding, drinking from my cup,
In the spring, hair fallin', never get enough.
Her hair was floating in my drink,
Black and grey, white hairs in my drink,
And with cat-spit now it goes down the sink.
-
Blues Sonnet: Squirrel Blues
The squirrels are into the feeder again,
Greedy squirrels emptyin' my feeder,
They seem to eat enough for five or ten.
I filled it for chickadees, for finches,
Filled to top for little birds like finches,
Now seems only squirrels gaining inches.
That fancy squirrel-feeder they don't touch,
Expensive feeder just for them untouched,
They'd rather steal suet, seed and such.
I've so many squirrels, can't keep it full,
Yards full up with squirrels, can't keep it full -
They litter my yard with sunflower hulls.
I can see my cat, she is well and hale,
'Cause she don't leave nothing but squirrel tail.
-
Bob and Wheel: King Alfred Daffodils
Bulbs buried deep for bower's bloom,
From clay compost lifts King Alfred,
Nodding nobly in Narcissus,
Sweetly scented sunshine scepter,
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Bulbs below,
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Royal blooms soon abound,
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Common Kings swiftly grow,
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Chapels green grant them crowns,
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ By God's hand there bestowed.
