Double Dactyls - Fiendish little Poems for Middle-earth

Easy to read but fiendishly difficult to write. I know of what I speak - this form is very arguably the most difficult poetic form I've attempted so far. A small number of these are 'not quite pure' double-dactyls taking license with syllable count rather than properly multisyllabic singular words.

Gastrointestinal
Cook of the team.
Thus Gollum found his own
Unceremonious
Duplicate leverets
Served up with steam.

Pippin

Pipatwee, pippadee.
Peregrin, foolish Took
Counterintuitive
Member of Nine.
But they, in spite of his
Idiosyncratic
Counterintelligence,
Liked him just fine.

Merry

Overlook, overlook.
Merry the Brandybuck;
Weapon in hand, Nazgul
Stabbed in a whirl.
Being so short gave him
Juxtapositional
Superiority
Better than girls.

Aragorn

Namealot, namealot.
Aragorn Elessar,
Octingentenary
King of the land.
Lasting so long gave his
Paterfamilias
Resplendent sovereignty
Fresh and not canned.

Boromir

Boastabit, Roastabit.
Boromir Stewardson,
Chances at glory he
Never would shun.

Saw it was done.

Legolas

Elvisheyes, Schmelvisheyes
Legolas Green-of-leaf
Undecomposable
Springy and svelte.

Gimli

Moria, Moria
Gimli, gruff Gloin’s son

Gandalf

Bilbo

Gollum

Smeagolly, Deagolly
Gollum the piscator
Kleptomaniacally
Followed the Ring.
In spite of his sounding
Onomatopoeic,
He paradoxically
Hated the thing.

Grima

Slimiest, timiest
Grima the Wormytongued
Slithering all round
The Rohan King’s ear.
Filled with this oily
Palatability
Antivermicular
Measures he feared.

Shelob

Lotsowebs, blotsowebs
Shelob Ungoliant.
Arachnological
Problem to stew:
Hobbit holes had made her
Co-conspirtorial
Digestibility
Harder to do.

The Fellowship

Overhills, roverhills
Nine of the Fellowship;
Conviviality
Second to none.
Arrayed in arms all their
Paraphernalia’s
Aggregate quantity
Made it more fun.




Old Gaffer's Brew

Bubbily-flubbily
Foaming up Gaffer's brew
Fizzing through Bilbo,
Birthday guests too.
Effersovecently, alcoholescently
Giving the world
A rosier view.

Ent-draught

Wellinghall swellinghall,
End-draughts aswilling now
Here are two hobbits
With quick-curling hair,
Antiquiescently and adolescently
Growing and glowing
With root-drunken flair.

Miruvor

Elrond's own recipe,
