How about this one?

Title: Passing Fancy
Characters: Seven, Ace
Wordcount: 528
Summary: Ace doesn't look much like Liz. Maybe another pass would work better. A light scene extension for Battlefield, references to Three and Four's eras.

The Doctor looked triumphant as he handed her the small folder. "I never thought I'd need to use this again."

"Who's Elizabeth Shaw?" Ace protested, looking at the UNIT pass that the Doctor had whipped out of somewhere in his hat. "I don't look anything like her!"

"What? Oh, well, how about this one?" He fished in his coat and handed her another.

She opened it. "This is a bloke. You know a Michael Yates?"

"Yates? Really? I wonder how I got his… here." A wad of leather was handed over. He shuffled through a handful of what appeared to be grocery receipts and tags off of clothing.

Ace picked apart the mashed wallet and found two more passes. "Josephine Grant," she read, making a face. "It has a daisy sticker on it."

"Will it do?"

"No! Too cutesy and blonde."

"Oh, well, yes, hm. How about the other?" He dropped the receipts and leaned over slightly to peer at it, continuing to rummage in his coat as he did so.

"No good. It's another bloke. Harold Sullivan."

"Harry?" He gave Ace a good looking over. "No, no. You definitely can't pass as Harry."

"I should say not!" Ace growled. "Got any more?"

"Oh, right. Just a moment." The Doctor did another lap around his pockets and hat, dropping a few bent playing cards and a candy wrapper. He finally produced a small folder with an old press-pass stuck to it.

Ace peeled off the sticky pass with distaste and opened it up. "Sarah Jane Smith," she said. "Well, at least her hair is dark." She looked up to find him holding out another one. "Just how many of these do you have, Professor? You're a regular I.D. dispensing machine here."

"I just have lots of pockets. I think this is the last one, except for mine of course."

"You have one? Can I see?" She took it from his hand as he gathered the others into a stack and fished out yet another folded paper. "This isn't you. This bloke doesn't look anything like you!"

"Still, it is mine."

She waved it at him. "Even I look more like this one than you do!"

"All right. I'll be Harry, you be me."

"What?!"

He raised his brows. "Well, I can't exactly be Jo."

"Let me see that other one." Ace snatched the paper from his hand and unfolded it. "This isn't a UNIT pass, this is a lunch coupon!"

The Doctor took it from her and considered it. "Good for a free sandwich. I'll have to keep this in case we end up back before it expired." He stuffed it back into his coat. "Now look here Ace, we need to get past that sentry so we can talk to Bambera. Just pick one."

Ace threw up her hands. "All right! I'll be… I don't know, that Shaw one. At least it's a woman. Even if she is ginger."

"Perfect. No one will notice your hair anyway, women change theirs all the time."

"What?"

"Except you, of course." He grabbed her arm and pulled her along. "Now, just talk like a physicist. Here we go."
