Poetry Forms - the Letter A, part 2
The other half of forms beginning with the letter A, very brief bits.
Alexandrine Couplet:
Behold the cat who curls beneath my sleeping child's afghan,
Deduce the one most sweet with sighs, contentment's chosen one.
-
Amphigory:
The paws are pouncing in the pie,
Flys up the crust into my eye:
Why not a catpie in the dish
Instead of magpies like her wish?
-
Anagram:
Beaded dew drop…
Weed-pod bed, dear.
-
Antiphon: The Purpose
The bulbs are blossomed!
Can the cat lie in them?
The grasses are warmed!
Can the can curl in them?
The grapes are twining!
Can the cat shelter beneath them?
The birds sing for Spring!
Can the cat catch them?
-
Awdl Gywydd: Catfood
Hunkering over her bowl
Sits my old tabby-striped cat;
Slowly she crunches her food,
Savoring the good in that.
Contented, she gives a purr,
Rumbling from her as she chews;
If kibble were fed to Kings,
Would such peaceful things come from food?
